From the heart of Liberia's Maryland County comes the story of Alice Teah, a woman whose life journey fuels a powerful vision. Born to Oretha Teah and Thomas Doe, she was one of four siblings, two girls and two boys, into a family that would eventually navigate separation. Alice's decision to become a part of FREE is deeply rooted in her personal narrative, a testament to resilience and the enduring spirit of hope. Her own life serves as a potent example of the challenges faced and overcome. Growing up without a father's presence, Alice spent her formative years with her grandmother, a period marked by significant hardship. Days often stretched into nights with the gnawing emptiness of hunger and the frustrating impossibility of reaching school without transportation. Life, for young Alice, was an arduous climb. Yet, through unwavering patience, she has navigated those difficult early years to reach where she is today, a journey that now inspires her profound commitment to empowering others.
